Oh wow, I'm vaping an oddball Japanese dinner... tonight's menu is tea with tempura slathered mystery berries and ice cream. Black tea, not green. None of the elements distract or dominate - it's a well balanced whole. And it's warm, slightly sweet, slightly earthy and wholly comforting.
When I say slightly sweet, I don't mean damn-near-cloy, like Lenola Cream (which I also enjoy). I can see why Veroden calls this liquid savory; compared to all the 5% sweetner liquids we're getting these days, it is.
The combination of disparate flavors really works on a gut level - this liquid isn't the result of happenstance or strictly intellectual mixing. You know how some of the best songs in history are mashups... Bohemian Rhapsody... A Day In The Life... Paradise By The Dashboard Light. Mashups. And excellent. It's the same with Yellow Noise Maker, and I salute the guy/ gal who made it!
I can vape this liquid any time, any place. I can vape this all day. I can vape this until my supply runs out... and then I'm screwed. I live in Europe and Kite In Cloud doesn't have a distributor for their Definitives line. They also don't ship to Europe. Now, I'll gladly pay $15 for the occasional bottle, but not for a shipping service, international shipping, and import duties on top of that. It's not that good. Which makes me realize that a score of 4.5 is the most I can give it. There are some liquids that I would buy at those obscene markups.
As advertised, Lenola Cream with one small tweak: less banana/ more strawberry. Other than that it's the same "pies, fruit medley tastes, and creaminess for miles". I.m.o. it's just as good as the original and so similar that it's completely redundant.
I do love the uniqueness of Lenola Cream. And when I heard they did it with strawberry...My goodness how could someone pass that up?? Oh, I did. Darn. Luckily I have an amazing friend whol sent me some and I am extremely grateful to them.
If you like LC, and if you like strawberry then this is a match made in heaven. The inhale is that amazing Lenola Cream base...No banana. It was hard reviewing LC because there are so many layers of flavors that I find it hard to pinpoint any singular one. I do get a nice pie crust, the cream is amazing and some other nuances that just make this an amazing piece of art...So to speak. The exhale brings a nice, ripe strawberry to the party and it rocks it. Brings it to a whole new level. It's not sickeningly sweet, like some can be. It's a good amount of deliciousness.
I do like this better than the original, but I lean more towards strawberries anyway.

Unlike most, I was actually disappointed with the hype surrounding Lenola Cream. What was so special about it? It's kind of fruity, nutty, sweet - sort of a banana, or maybe not. I didn't know.
I didn't know.
I left the bottle to steep because I was simply disappointed. Maybe the fabled playfulness and complexity of it would shine after some time, I thought. And it did. Two weeks is all it took and this has become one of my favorite flavors ever. It's fruity, not overly sweet, nutty, among other flavors. Just lovely.

So just to start out the bottle I have of this is pretty well aged, so my review is only going from that, I'm not sure what this tastes like fresh.
As others have mentioned, this is a very unique flavor. I've never had Kuri Kinton nor have I ever even heard of it. Apparently it uses a certain kind of Japanese sweet potato that is sweeter than what I'm used to. I'm not a fan of sweet potato, but KiC typically does quality work so I was certainly intrigued by this.
I will say I appreciate new and unique flavors, I can't say I've seen anyone else even attempt a flavor like this before. Does it succeed? I certainly think so. I was surprised that I wasn't really getting the starchy sweet potato as others have mentioned, at least not like I was expecting. There certainly is a slight starchiness there, but in a blind taste test I'd be curious who would guess it was a sweet potato.
The berry syrup and candied chestnuts come next and blend together very well, and wrap the profile up nicely. I'm honestly not sure what the berry would be, to me it's not a blackberry, maybe a strawberry/blueberry mix? Dash of cherry? Everything in this mixes so well it's hard to pick out, but it does provide an overall enjoyable experience. The candied chestnuts are not overpowering, you certainly don't walk away describing this as a nutty juice overall. It's there, but when you consider extra-sweet sweet potatoes, berry syrup, and candied chestnuts, you do mostly get a sweet / dessert style vibe more than anything. It certainly isn't too sweet by any means, very enjoyable.
My biggest critique here is the mouth-feel, it definitely has a lighter mouth feel and I prefer a thicker. It doesn't have a lot of body to it, it vapes kind of thin for my tastes. It vapes extremely smooth yet is slightly dry on the exhale, but not bad. I didn't detect any throat hit.
So for me personally I'm not sure I'd re-order this one, though I still respect what they are doing here. I don't think anyone would be displeased with this juice, and if you like lighter flavors this one would definitely fit the bill. I'd give the intensity about a 4 or 5 out of 10. It's got decent flavor, but I think just a bump in overall intensity would make this one pop a lot more.
It's mixed well, and is very unique and I appreciated the experience of trying something different.

I love Kite in Cloud. Bobby and Ann are so fantastic. They take the time to package your juice carefully, will work with you in a heartbeat if there's a problem, and respond to questions super quickly. My favorite thing about Kite in Cloud is the note that comes on your packing slip. There is always, and I mean always, a nice heartfelt note smooshed on the packing slip. It makes you feel.. KNOW.. they genuinely care. This is one of the best companies around.
When I placed my most recent order with Kite In Cloud, I added a note that I referred a good friend of mine. I thanked them for making such great juice (it really is one of my favorites) and forgot about it for a while. When I got my order, I opened the box to find the owners also sent along a multi-paragraph letter expressing their gratitude. It was not printed out, but written by hand. I was flabbergasted. I know they are busy, because Lenola Cream is a very popular juice. You can't go a day without seeing them mentioned on Reddit.
The Kite In Cloud owners such sweet people, and it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that their genuinely good spirit has won them rave reviews in the JuiceDB community.
And the kicker? Their juice is delicious! As of July 2015, they still only sell one style of juice! I don't know if I can recommend KIC enough. They're good people who make excellent juice, and I'd like to keep supporting them.
Obviously taste, smell, etc. is subjective and everyone has different preferences. That being said... Lenola Cream from Kite in Cloud is the only e-liquid that I've been able to vape consistently. It's been 4 months and I haven't turned back. Everyone who smells it says "That smells really good" and I say "Yeah! No shit buddy".
The people at Kite in Cloud (KiC) are super nice and helped me out when I asked them advice in the "Comments" section when placing an order. If you haven't already tried their e-juice, then you are living under a f&%#@ing rock. Come out of your rock and join us here... in the future. where it smells kinda like banana's but tastes like the Awesome sauce!!
