Tangerine Dreams is basically an orange dreamsicle. It's mainly a sweet orange-like flavor backed by a mild vanilla cream. It's supposedly tangerine and it may very well be, but it tastes basically like orange to me. Or better yet, maybe like canned mandarins in heavy syrup. I say in heavy syrup because it's quite sweet. So maybe ambiguous, sweet, orange skinned citrus fruit is a better descriptor. And when I say it's sweet, it's more of a candied fruit kind of sweet as opposed to a fruit candy kind of sweet. It still tastes fairly natural but it doesn't have any sort of citrusy tang to it at all. The sweet orange, or ambiguous orange skinned citrus fruit, is backed by a light vanilla cream. The cream is definitely in the background and provides a slight smooth creaminess and a mild sweet vanilla flavor. The main focus here is on the orange, or tangerine, or whatever. The flavor intensity is a strong medium. The sweetness level is up there although it's not cloyingly sweet. Oh, and I do not find anything floral about this juice even though it is mentioned in the product description. On the inhale I get a sweetened orange upfront and vanilla cream that works it's way in towards the backend. The exhale is combination of sweet orange and sweet vanilla cream. The orange is the stronger of the two flavors but the cream is there adding a smooth layer for it to ride atop. I'm left with the taste of sweet orange and sweet vanilla cream, basically a dreamsicle.
Overall, Tangerine Dreams is a fairly simple orange dreamsicle type flavor. It's okay, but I don't find it all that special. I wish it had more of a citrusy edge to it because it's honestly on the verge of being too sweet in my opinion. It's fairly one note and a little tanginess might cut the sweetness and add a little depth. A little more creaminess might up the ante as well. If you're looking for a sweet dreamsicle style juice, this might be up your alley. Personally, I'm sure I'll finish the small bottle I have at some point, but it's not something I'd reorder.
