Update time:
I seriously didn't expect this, but I was contacted by Chef Oren after I posted this review. He'd heard I'd received one of their faulty caps (evidently they got a bad batch from their vendor and didn't notice until they'd already sent a couple out), so it looks like that's not going to be an issue any more.
The second part of this update is that, perhaps most of all, he was upset because I'd had a bad experience. There's definitely something human that's lost when you communicate with another person through a computer screen. Let me confirm: these people are real and passionate about what they do. They have absolutely proven to me that my one less-than-stellar experience was unacceptable, and even disturbing, to them. They did this not by bribing me or threatening me, but by taking time out of their day to interact with me as a person and figure out what went wrong.
Everyone has bad days. Freak things happen. How those freak things get handled can make or break your faith in a business. Consider my faith in these great people restored.
Lastly, since the bad cap I had was responsible for me losing my Lemon Cheesecake, they're sending me a replacement. So consider that full disclosure, or whatever suits you. Thanks, you guys.
PS - to the people who manage juicedb: I tried to keep my original review in this submission, but I guess it was too long and your page wouldn't accept it. I don't feel great about deleting my initial impressions, so if you could fix that, then I could provide you with the type of honest and accurate review I'm sure you want from your community.
To those who were curious, here's a brief summary:
1) TVK, based on quality and consistency of juice alone, is a 10 in my book.
2) I had them rated as a 7 because:
A) I was subject to what I didn't know at the time was a batch of faulty bottle caps that would pop off and sit sideways. I had a bottle of Lemon Cheesecake empty out entirely into my vape bag because of a faulty cap.
B) I had a difficult order with them that was messed up and was entirely my fault, and trying to get it fixed before it shipped was complicated and an exercise in the dangers of misunderstanding.
3) Despite the above, I still intended to do business with TVK based on quality of their product alone.
