Jasmine Milk Tea by The Vape Kitchen
What makes Jasmine Milk Tea distinctively unique comes down to what goes into crafting the flavor. Much like the time-tested tradition of finding the best tea leaves to make the best tea, we took a Vape Kitchen signature approach to perfecting this flavor. The process to make each bottle is over THREE months. We take young green tea leaves and triple infuse them with a fresh, summery blossoms of jasmine which are then rolled into pearls. We take these unique sweet floral tea blossoms and directly infuse them into our signature VG blend for 3 months, which imparts an incredible distinctive flavor. The result: a rich and smooth, creamy milk tea that has never been done before.
If you've ever made rice pudding you know the ingredients: rice, milk, sugar, salt, egg (real rice pudding is a custard), butter, and vanilla. Cinnamon is a pretty common additive as are raisins.
This liquid has all those flavors minus raisins, but doesn't come off too thick and custardy. It has the clean milky flavor of rice pudding with rich vanilla and a dash of cinnamon. It tastes rich but somehow still able to be light and all day vapeable. I got this as a sample and I think I like it more than the Indian Rice Pudding (kheer) flavor. I would definitely order this in a full sized bottle.
Well they did it. This juice tastes like how it feels to have just eaten a pink Starburst. And the vapor aroma is like the scent when I first open the wax paper on one of those little waxy candies too. This isn't a bright tart berry flavor, it is a sweet mellow strawberry candy flavor. I typically prefer more tart flavors so this won't be an ADV for me, much like Strawberry Milk Candy. But I really like it and will likely order another 60ml in the coming months.
You know, the one bad thing about The Vape Kitchen is that they set the bar so high that my friends, partner, and I have stopped buying from other vendors. The flavors we once loved have been left behind. Like children that only ate ketchup and chicken fingers and mac n cheese from the box - well our palates have grown up and branched out to the 5 star gourmet flavors of The Vape Kitchen and we just can't go back to the e-liquid equivalent to processed foods
As for Opus 5 all I can say is wow!
Saffron. Almond. Lavender. Tea maybe? The golden sweetness of honey. It's all there. Dialed in at 63 watts with medium airflow. There is no way I can describe this in a manner that can be even close to understood without vaping it yourself.
Thanks to TVK for including this free bottle as a gift with a large order because we officially love this stuff. Will order a 60ml.
OK I know this is supposed to be a macaron (mack uh RON) which is a French style merengue cookie made with nut-meal and having a creamy buttery filling. I get something more like salted caramel macaroon (mack uh ROON) which would be the buttery coconut cookie that Americans are more familiar with - though I know the macaron has become a lot more popular in the US these days.
I'm sure the right flavor notes are here but the buttery caramel is almost completely obfuscating the almond merengue for me. The flavor I get is rich buttery bakery with salted caramel and the almond could be coconut with all this delicious butter flavor. I will try another of TVK's macaron flavors soon because a French macaron is one of my favorite sweet treats... after mint chip ice cream.
Don't get me wrong, this is absolutely delicious, but doesn't taste like a macaron to me. I'd order again, though. To put in context, if you added chocolate ganache this would taste like a Samoa Girl Scout Cookie. Based on that I think you know what I mean when I say this is delicious.
If you've ever had Calpico and you love it: this flavor is definitely for you. And if you haven't but you like tart frozen yogurt: you need to get this flavor as your free 30ml bottle when you order $100 worth. A small sample might not be enough for you to dial it in.
Here's the deal, this liquid has the tart yogurt and sweet citrus flavor that I expected from it. This is not likely easy to pull off in an eliquid, and it isn't easy to dial in on a VV but I was able to do it. I used moderate wattage 58-61 and lots and lots of airflow. Without that I get a bit of a bitterness on the exhale. That's why you might need more than a 5ml sample to get this right.
Note to Oren: I'd love to taste this flavor with a cool note to learn whether duplicating Pinkberry's tart original flavor is possible.
I never smoked in my life, I am grossed out by smoking or inhaling anything other than air until I sampled Vape Kitchens juices. Thai Mango Sticky rice in particular . Since that day I have become addicted to Vape Kitchens juices.
I now vape everyday with a drip mod and have tried many of their flavors at zero nicotine .
The owners are fantastic and the staff are amazing and helpful. I have met the owners at a vape expo and have been to the North Hollywood store several times. Each flavor is made with care by a chef
This is a wonderful company.
Update: 10/10. Enormous flavor list (over 200 I think), all the nic levels you could want, glass bottles, good packaging, fast shipping. Still max VG, no food colors, or diacetyl. Not sure about sweetener, I'll have to ask on my next order. Didn't need to steep, flavors are great straight out of the mailbox.
Previous review from 3 years ago: The juices are 100% VG and they don't use food coloring, sweetener, or diacetyl. Their flavors are bold and interesting. The juices haven't needed a steep of the several I have tried so far. The customer service is friendly enough and shipping is free and reasonably fast. I would give them a 10 but for now they don't offer online payment. It has to be over the phone or via PP invoice. Once they are able to do online ordering I will give them a 10.
My god, these people. These nice, nice people. I had some trouble with their Black Friday coupon -- not only did Mai give me a personal coupon code to use instead, she helped walking me through the issue and fixing the problem with the site that caused it right then, even though I had what is comparatively a really tiny order.
Today my order came, and it feels like my birthday. Little stickers and a note on the order slip, four 5ml samples (how did you guys know I wanted to try the milk candy and the sticky rice?) and a little pouch of candies.
At this point, I'm ordering again no matter what the juice tastes like. This place makes me feel special.
I seriously didn't expect this, but I was contacted by Chef Oren after I posted this review. He'd heard I'd received one of their faulty caps (evidently they got a bad batch from their vendor and didn't notice until they'd already sent a couple out), so it looks like that's not going to be an issue any more.
The second part of this update is that, perhaps most of all, he was upset because I'd had a bad experience. There's definitely something human that's lost when you communicate with another person through a computer screen. Let me confirm: these people are real and passionate about what they do. They have absolutely proven to me that my one less-than-stellar experience was unacceptable, and even disturbing, to them. They did this not by bribing me or threatening me, but by taking time out of their day to interact with me as a person and figure out what went wrong.
Everyone has bad days. Freak things happen. How those freak things get handled can make or break your faith in a business. Consider my faith in these great people restored.
Lastly, since the bad cap I had was responsible for me losing my Lemon Cheesecake, they're sending me a replacement. So consider that full disclosure, or whatever suits you. Thanks, you guys.
PS - to the people who manage juicedb: I tried to keep my original review in this submission, but I guess it was too long and your page wouldn't accept it. I don't feel great about deleting my initial impressions, so if you could fix that, then I could provide you with the type of honest and accurate review I'm sure you want from your community.
To those who were curious, here's a brief summary:
1) TVK, based on quality and consistency of juice alone, is a 10 in my book.
2) I had them rated as a 7 because:
A) I was subject to what I didn't know at the time was a batch of faulty bottle caps that would pop off and sit sideways. I had a bottle of Lemon Cheesecake empty out entirely into my vape bag because of a faulty cap.
B) I had a difficult order with them that was messed up and was entirely my fault, and trying to get it fixed before it shipped was complicated and an exercise in the dangers of misunderstanding.
3) Despite the above, I still intended to do business with TVK based on quality of their product alone.
IMO one of the premier juice vendors around. Almost everything I have tried is not just good but exceptional in taste and quality. Their chef/mixologist works some serious magic on putting together some complex and well defined flavors that are 100% VG based.
Bottles and labels are nice. Flavors are exceedingly unique and well thought out. There are some common ones in the mix but they taste unique compared to other vendors. Their website is slightly frustrating to use but just a minor complication.
I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Oren at Vape Exhibit in Austin. He was incredibly friendly and talkative. One of those "hey stranger, pull up a seat and hang out forever" type of people. He is fun to talk to, quirky, and very straight forward. Really cool dude.
Not to mention he was mixing custom flavors on the spot and nailing them according to the couple people's reactions I saw. His challenge to me and a few others was to come up with the craziest thing you would want to vape and tell him and he would make it for you.
In all the juices I have tried I have not come across more accurate fruit flavors than TVK produces and I have not run across many vendors so welcoming and happy to see and converse with literally everyone.
