Fresh Review - I really end up liking this quite a bit. This is one of my very few experience with juice that includes alcohol flavoring. It’s not that I necessarily have anything against the idea of it, it’s just that I didn’t think it would be well received by my tastebuds. Well, I was incorrect, at least with this one. This is just such a unique juice. Vastly different than anything else I’ve tried up to this point.

On the inhale I get the poached pear right up front. The pear in this is nice and light and sweet, but not obnoxiously so. It’s sweet, but spicy with what I think is probably a small amount of cinnamon and nutmeg. Before your palate can get used to that the brandy pokes its head into the mix. It’s a very distinct flavor, and if you haven’t had brandy before, it’s kind of hard to describe. It’s slightly sour, but mostly sweet and it mixes with the pear very well. The exhale I get an initial burst of the brandy that quickly subsides behind the almond crumble and the creaminess of the melted ice cream. This almond is present but not so much so that it hides the rest of the flavor. The finish of the exhale is just a bit dry for my liking, but I say that about every nutty juice, so that’s probably just me. Overall, this is a unique juice that really changes my perspective on alcohol flavoring in juices. Probably not something I’d vape all the time, but definitely a nice change of pace. Can’t wait to see if this one changes with time.

Aged Review - This one has changed a lot. The brandy has definitely settled some. I’m not getting that same pop from the brandy that I was on a fresh bottle. It’s still there, but it’s much lighter. The almond crumble seems to have really strengthened in an aged bottle. So, this is a little bit dryer than I remember. While this was a strong mix of unique flavors on a fresh bottle, it seems much more focused on the almond crumble with time. So, you get a lot more nuttiness and pastry to this than you did on a fresh bottle, with the pear, brandy and spices taking more of a backseat. It’s not bad, it’s just not as good as I remember.

Don’t take that the wrong way. I still think this is a fine juice, and one of the more unique flavor combinations I’ve tried in recent memory. I just prefer this in a fresh bottle greatly. The inhale/exhale breakdown in this is very similar to that of a fresh bottle, just that the almond and pasty have strengthened whereas everything else appears to have weakened. Some people, especially those that like an almond cookie-like flavor may enjoy this more with some age. For me, I prefer it fresh, so if I order this again moving forward, it’s going to be a small bottle juice for me so I can get through it before it ages too much.

God (a la) Mode was the flavor from Level Up that I was most looking forward to and I was not disappointed. It's a very complex and layered juice that really hits the mark. It's an amalgam of so many flavors that all come together in beautiful harmony. There really is a lot going on here. There's a fantastic brandy poached pear that is sweet and spice laden. There's vanilla ice cream that brings a layer of creaminess. There's a delectable almond crumble that asserts dominance on the exhale. It's just layer upon layer of great flavor. The poached pear starts off the inhale with gusto. It's juicy and sweet with a peppering of spices. If I had to guess I'd say it's a mixture of cinnamon, star anise and clove, but it comes together so nicely it's hard to define. There is also a somewhat alcoholic element that tastes very much like brandy. There is a creamy vanilla ice cream that begins to creep in and becomes more prominent on the backend of the inhale. The vanilla cream continues through to begin the exhale before the almond crumble takes over. The rest of the exhale is predominantly almond, resembling an almond shortbread cookie. It's sweet, nutty and delicious. I'm left with the taste of vanilla and pear on the back of my palate and almond cookie on the front.

Overall I am highly impressed with God (a la) Mode. There is a lot happening in this juice and it is blended masterfully. Everything works together so well and the flavors play off each other beautifully. If I had this in food form I would eat it until I burst. I highly recommend giving this unique juice a try. It's definitely on my re-order list.

I should note that this juice changed significantly over time. When I tried it fresh it was much more pear forward and the brandy had a rather prominent alcoholic flavor. With a little time that has toned down to reveal more of the vanilla ice cream and almond. The almond has gone from being a lighter accent flavor to now having a much stronger taste. It's a great juice both fresh and steeped, just very different.

This is a very delightful combination of flavors that I was surprised worked so well in unison. The pear, ice cream, brandy, almond, and spices manage to create a juice that just makes you want to vape more of it. It definitely has made me want to make an almond pear brandy dessert. The juice in the bottle smells good enough to eat.

On the inhale I get a spiced pear that is really warm and just slightly sweet. There is just an edge of brandy to it that works really well. I have never tried an alcohol flavored juice before and I thought it might be overwhelming, but it's just a light accent that pops out the other flavors. The almond really comes out on the exhale. It's nutty and the ice cream really rounds everything out. This is a juice that once I started vaping I couldn't put it down. I very quickly am almost at the end of my 15ml bottle. It is definitely a flavor that will stay in my rotation.
