Elixir 03 is a delicious take on a tropical rum drink. It consists of a dark, almost spiced, style rum mixed with pineapple and melons. And oh boy are those melons tasty. They have a really unique taste unlike any other melon juice I've had. It's described as being wild melons. To me it tastes like a mixture of cantaloupe, honeydew and muskmelon, maybe a little watermelon in there too. It's a really rich and juicy melon flavor that is quite well done. The pineapple sort of acts as bridge between the rum and the melons and is more of a pineapple juice flavor as opposed to fresh pineapple. The rum has a dark warmth to it and occasionally it hints towards more of a dark spiced rum. It doesn't have an alcoholic taste to it, but it definitely comes across as being rum. On the inhale I get the rum first. It's dark with hints of molasses and has a pleasant warmth to it. A sweetened pineapple begins to mingle with the rum on the backend. The exhale begins with the pineapple carrying over and the rum becoming lighter and dropping into the background. Then the melons come storming in with their juicy deliciousness. They have a pretty bold and rich flavor. There is a little citrusy pineapple tang that hits the tip of my tongue on the way out. I'm left with a nice warmth from the rum and a light taste of the melons and sweet pineapple.
Overall I'm really pleased with Elixir 03. The melon flavor in this juice is really something special. The warmth of the rum is quite pleasant and the pineapple sweetness mixes well. All the flavors work nicely together and create a rather unique experience. The melons really make this stand out to me and I keep finding myself drawn to this juice. It's really well crafted and very enjoyable.
