Southern Star is an excellent tobacco juice. It's complex and nuanced with a rich and robust flavor. It makes me think of good rolling tobacco. There is no nasty ashtray flavor going on in here whatsoever. It has an earthy and woody taste accented with a sweet brown sugar and nuttiness. There is also a slight undertone of creaminess. I've found that with a little increase in wattage, the creaminess becomes a bit more noticeable but to the detriment of the sweet notes. I prefer it at the slightly lower wattage, although it's enjoyable both ways. On the inhale I get an earthy tobacco highlighted by a sweet and somewhat caramelized brown sugar. The very backend has a slight creaminess to it. The exhale is nutty with a bit of a woody taste as well. There is a slight creamy sweetness underneath. I'm left with an earthy and nutty tobacco with hints of caramelized brown sugar.
Overall, Southern Star is a really satisfying tobacco experience. It has the elements of a good rolling tobacco complimented with nuttiness and brown sugar. It's quite smooth and flavorful. It definitely ranks up there with some of the better tobacco juices I've tried. I really enjoy it with my morning coffee. I've already reordered this a couple times and will continue keeping it in my rotation.
