The Opus line is undoubtedly one of the best experiences I've had vaping, so when they came out with a new entry I had to get my hands on it. I hope The Vape Kitchen continues this trend and releases Opus 6-20 :)

Opus 5 certainly earns it's place in the line up. On a blind taste test I thought this kind of reminded me of an earl grey tea, but I've had TVK's Earl Grey, and this wasn't quite that. This was more the sweet kind with the bergamot.

I looked at the description and yep, I was pretty far off. That's the thing with Opus though, they are on purpose taking building blocks that aren't often used to create something new and original. I still maintain that this has a slight tea vibe to it, the orange blossom was what I was attributing to the bergamot. The lavender here is present, but not overpowering, it gives a very gentle floral touch to the mix which really adds a nice touch. You do pick out the clover honey at the end of the exhale, along with just a very tangy / fruity / creamy note that is near impossible to describe but it's so heavenly. I love tangy, and this is spectacular.

It's a great flavor, and yes, extremely hard to describe. The flavor intensity is a 6 out of 10 and the saffron infused VG really brings the signature mouth-feel and satiny smoothness to this (as well as some satisfying cloud production). I can't stop vaping this, it's just so unique and inviting. Like the others, it's mixed in such a way that you get different subtleties each time you vape it. It's complex but in a more mysterious way.

Highly recommend this one. It has a wonderful fruity/sweet note to it, a soft floral note, a dash of sweet cream and a subtle but perfect clover honey in there. It's not listed but I still get reminded of a tea when vaping this, just not as intense of a tea as those found in the Royal Tea line from TVK. It has that gourmet feel like the other Opus flavors, but is more sweet and tangy. The milk and honey here are done in a way I can guarantee you've never experienced before.

The Opus flavors are all something else. In the e-liquid realm, they’re in a world of their own. Nothing is similar or comparable. Opus 5 is no different. In fact it’s been awhile since I’ve had a good floral flavor. Really I didn’t even read the description to Opus 5 before trying it since my good friend Wump gifted me a bottle. I was a bit taken back by my first vape of it since I didn’t know what it was going in. I’d also say Opus 5 is pretty different from the other Opus iterations.

Opus 5 again, is mostly a floral flavor. Rather than having bases built around Earl Grey, Opus 5 is all kinds of floral layered on the saffron infused VG base. This is all kinds of floral but in the best possible way. The lavender is what hits me first. Very natural and fragrant. It’s a strong flavor but used with the right amount of restraint here. I agree with Wump that there seems to be an orange blossom type of flavor. Some type of slightly citrusy floral flavor that makes up the middle. The back part of this flavor is all honey. Rich and floral clover honey that is quite possibly the best honey flavor I’ve tried in e-liquid at least as far as accuracy is concerned. You needn't worry about the typical pitfalls of honey in e-liquids here. The honey with the vg has a thick and velvety mouth feel on the exhale.

While I was a bit shocked on my initial vape, I quickly settled into complete tranquil enjoyment of this flavor. It’s incredibly hard to describe outside of it being floral and basically perfection. Vaping this stirs memories of delicious Indian desserts I’ve tried. Rasmalai and Gulab Jamun. Where the velvety creaminess is complemented with touches of rose water and nuts. It’s still not the same but it’s really the only comparison I muster.

Opus 5's description is almost parodically artisanal: "This simple and pure Spanish Saffron-infused VG combines proprietary aromatics and a touch of sweet cream to create the delicately balanced and realistic flavor of fresh clover honey with a hint of orange blossom, lavender and milk."

But the joke's on you if you discount it for that reason. I'll be damned, but this lovely vape actually has notes of orange blossom and lavender, as well as a nice thick "milky" body. The sweet cream gives it a slight dessert-like quality, which makes it an ideal after-dinner vape.

And let's talk about that saffron for a minute: They're not just blowing smoke (har, har). You get the crisp, clean, flowery taste of saffron here. For such a ritzy vape, it's got a pretty good price point – $15 for 30 ml when I picked it up.

Personally, I find Opus 5 is best enjoyed after a nice meal or with a glass (or two, or three) of good liquor.
