I still maintain that vendors should do more menthol juices overall, so when Blue Dot just ran a sampler for 5 menthol juices for $5 I couldn't resist. The sampler came today and typically 10ml isn't enough for me to do as thorough of a review as I'd like, but this is going fast so I'm going to do my best to write up a quick review before it's gone. Obviously this is fresh out of the mail and not steeped at all.
I've never had the regular Strawkiji but I've had strawberry and kiwi and they are an excellent combination that's just begging for some added ice. This fits the bill quite nicely. I ordered Max VG because I'm hopeful that someone will be able to get a max VG blend with a good cooling in it and this one really does. It's not blow your face off cold, but it's very icy and just what I was hoping for.
The fruits blend well together and add a nice sweetness to this arctic landscape. However, they are pretty light and I wished they provided a bit more of an oomph here. While the menthol brings this up on the intensity scale, the fruits are more subtle than you might be looking for. They are good and tasty, a bit of sweetness and tartness, but they don't take center stage here. It's a good blend and I could definitely see myself reordering this one, but I will always wish the fruit stood out more than it does. Still, they nailed the cooling aspect so it's hard for me to be too picky.
Excellent price, great quality and pretty darn cold and tasty. Decent mouth feel too with the max VG. It's not going to dethrone Melonlyptus for me but it's a great juice and one I think menthol people will enjoy.

Strawkiji Freeze is the ice/menthol version of Strawkiji from the same vendor. I enjoyed Strawkiji, reviewing it as a quality tropical strawberry juice with clear fruit flavoring. I enjoyed Strawkiji Freeze as well, though adding the ice has both plusses and minuses. With the addition of the cooling, the fruit flavoring is not as clear as plain Strawkiji. Still there, but it comes across as much more muted with the addition of the ice. On the other hand, the ice does make for a nice addition to a juice I already enjoyed. So you lose some of the fruit flavor, but gain the menthol. Strawkiji Freeze is a fruity menthol that I enjoy. It didn't bowl me over enough that I am going to repurchase it all the time, but goes on the list with some other fruity menthols from Blue Dot that will be occasional purchases for variety.

Strawkiji Freeze takes the original Strawkiji and adds some icy menthol. I like the original version and I like this rendition too. I can’t really decide which one I like better. The addition of menthol here alters the original’s fruit profile a little. It sort of dulls the fruit flavors that were so vibrant in the non-menthol version, although the perfect level of icy cool makes up for the fruits lack of clarity in my opinion. I guess you have to give a little to get a little. The strawberry-kiwi blend retains its sweetness and tartness, but its flavor gets a bit muddled by the menthol. The intensity of the fruits is fairly mild, while the iciness of the menthol is a bit above medium. The inhale starts off with a light strawberry and an icy menthol that builds towards the backend. The backend of the inhale and beginning of the exhale are the peak of both the fruity sweetness and the iciness of the menthol. The remainder of the exhale is a cool mix of sweet and tart strawberry-kiwi. I’m left with an icy fruity sweetness that hangs around for a good while.
Overall, Strawkiji Freeze is a satisfyingly cool fruit blend. The sacrifice of clarity in the fruit flavors is made up for by the icy cool provided by the menthol. While the fruits do make for a nice backdrop for the iciness, I feel if they were a bit more pronounced this could be even better. It’s still an enjoyable vape, escpecially if you’re a fan of cool.
