I've tried many coffee juices, trying to pick best candidates from reviews. So far straight, black coffee flavors have always been fails, regardless of vendor and the quality of their other efforts. The "coffee" is inevitably bitter, stale, or burnt tasting; tastes of popcorn, peanuts or something else; or is one way or another just wrong.

I wondered why this should be, as some foods can be successfully coffee flavored. Then it occurred to me the best example is coffee flavored ice cream. Yeah, that works because the coffee flavor is literally enveloped in CREAM, and sweetness, which cuts the bitterness. And sweet, creamy coffee flavors DO work well in a vape. Caramel and chocolate/mocha also work.

But what if you don't want a creamy, sweet coffee vape? So far this juice - Hades - is the closest I've found to a bold, relatively unobstructed coffee flavor. Indeed it's so incredibly delicious it's become my personal favorite juice.

Although the short description for Hades is "Roasted Coffee," the long description reveals the juice uses the chocolate trick (a "sweet mocha") to cut bitterness, though neither the sweet nor the mocha are beyond subtle. A "subtle nuttiness" is also conceded. This is where the formulation achieves true genius. The nuttiness includes a hot, spicy element. Something like a pine nut flavor, possibly? But to me it tastes for all the world like a hint, just a hint, of hot cinnamon! Whatever this is, it also seems to cut bitter, stale or burnt flavors, without covering over good coffee blackness. It further makes for a "hot" cup, befitting both actual coffee, and the juice name.

If you too have suffered disillusionment and disappointment in the quest for the ideal coffee vape, this juice may just be your grail. I know I've found heaven, and it's in Hades.

Note this is an expensive juice. Nearly a dollar per ml in the smallest bottle, and still over 50 cents in the largest. Your local vape shop may have a deal (the Cyclops website has a store finder) and you can usually find a coupon code for between 10 and 20 percent off if ordering direct.
