Oh Eclipse, you magnificent bastard!
Space Jam's foray into the world of tobacco flavors, Eclipse is described as a Cavendish tobacco and vanilla bean mix. The bottle is glass, and has these kitschy 90's graphics that I didn't like at first, but grew on me quite a bit. The bottle also comes with pretty solid dropper which holds ~.5ml per drip.
The first thing you'll notice when you open your bottle is the unbelievable fragrance! I let it breathe for about an hour, and my whole room was perfumed with a creamy, amazing smell. Loaded into my Nautilus with BVC's, it has a deep amber color and is slightly viscous.
The flavor. The flavor. THE FLAVOR. On the inhale, there's a definite tobacco spiciness, a little vanilla (think the smell of vanilla extract), and a strange note that I couldn't really place--if I had to describe it, I'd say it was a vaguely floral plum note.) On the exhale, I get a peppery tobacco flavor (which could possibly just be the nicotine, 12mg) with hellacious vanilla and a little sweet-salty custard note tucked into the background.
Delicious, no chemical/plastic or otherwise off flavors; the vapor had a delicate dryness to it that wasn't cloyingly sweet or overly mouth-coating. Also noteworthy is the smell: I had quite a few people compliment the smell of my vapor, and it filled my room with a comfortable, spicy scent.
Vapor was beautiful; thick and dense clouds of saturated vapor without sacrificing flavors. At higher wattage, the clouds take on an almost wet feeling. Throat hit was solid and present, but generally unremarkable.
Now, there are a few minor drawbacks that keep it from being a perfect vape. After chilling on my juice for a day or two, there was a considerable change in the flavor. The tobacco moved into the background, the vanilla moved forward, the floral note disappeared and there was huge spike in sweetness. More vanilla, and SIGNIFICANTLY more buttery custard, and the flavor tended to linger in my mouth a lot more. The pretty smells were toned down. After confirming the PG/VG content (50/50), I have come to the conclusion that this juice is a coil-destroyer; after 4 days in a fresh coil, this juice absolutely murked my BVC. My Nautilus sometimes needed a little assistance with wicking, and occasionally got dry hits--but that is mostly the fault of my coils. On a RDA or bottom-coil, I am sure it would perform without issue.
Altogether, I am completely impressed with this blend. Remarkable flavor, great balance, and certainly differentiates itself from other vanilla/tobacco blends. I wish it had retained its original flavor through steeping, but the flavor afterward is still quite pleasant in its own right. Certainly a solid vape, and well worth the premium price.
