First, I can not make any commentary on the original Heisenbird formula as I did not have the chance to try it. So this is just a simple review of the new formulation without comparison to the original. The bottle smells like the darker notes of raspberry with a tangy-like note which matches the description of blue raspberry with a sour kick.
The inhale brings in a beautiful blue raspberry flavor that is lightly sweet. Blue raspberry is an artificial flavor based off of the white bark raspberry which I have never tried, so I can not compare. However, as a child, I loved blue raspberry slush drinks and this brings me back. The flavor is not overpowering, but of good strength. There is also an undertone of sour/tang to the inhale that is well accepted to this vapor. The tartness and brightness of the flavor fade off of the tongue during my rest period before exhale. The exhale is more of the darker notes of the blue raspberry with a hint of the blue raspberry slush syrup. Not a sugar rush syrup, but more of the thick flavor concentrate type of flavor you would find in your slush. All the while having that nice sour flavor that builds up at the end of the exhale. After the exhale, your mouth feels like it is coated in that yummy goodness just as if you finished a big ol' slush.
I prefer it at low and medium range wattage settings, but it works well at higher wattage settings as well. I find that higher wattage will bring out the sweetness just a little more and raise the syrup note just a hair. However you vape it, this is a real winner. Tart and tangy, sweet without being obnoxious and nostalgic for those of us who have fond memories of the trips to the local gas station for that tasty concoction.
